Globalisation, feels the filmmaker, has not only brought the highest of high-end brands into Indian malls but has also forced our film stars 'to get their act together' - the women, he says, now routinely turn up on red carpets in Cavalli or similar, carrying a Louis Vuitton or a Judith Leiber clutch; and the men have ditched 'tacky tuxedos' and taken up spending on the best accessories available and personal stylists.
